June 9, 1999, ERA Presentation, |
Bill Perry of PerTel Communications had the opportunity to present to the Southern California Electronic Representatives Association, ERA, at the Atrium Hotel near Orange County airport. The subject was "Build Your Own Website" and the attendees were sales people and sales engineers that service the electronic needs of Southern California Manufacturing companies.
Remarks by Bill Perry during the 3 tutorial sessions:
The Internet is certainly making an impact in most every industry today. The ERA is no exception to this. It is especially appropriate that the ERA members publish information via the Internet because their audience is a technical one. Their customers are engineers and electronics industry people that expect to be provided with information via the latest methods.
Data books and spec sheets were the norm for many years. Then placing information on floppy had a short life. After that putting the entire catalog or data book on a CD ROM was, and still is, very popular. But CD ROMs are out of date as soon as they are published. The only sure-fire method to provide the latest information to the engineering community is via the internet.
The presentation used 20 slides. It can be viewed HERE

Why have a web page? Because your customers demand it. An Internet web site (or just a web page) is a great way to deliver information to your customer that is completely convenient to him.
All of the people I work with daily use the internet as a major part of their research and they now turn there first for the information they need. To many Internet users, if you are not on the web, you don't exist.
We, at PerTel, would like to thank the ERA for inviting us and also the attendees that were at our sessions. The questions asked were very helpful to all in attendance. |
THANKS! |
