Mr. Bill Perry, Owner, PerTel Communications - Mr. Rudy Mishmash, Director, Components Engineering, Qualcomm
Objectives: This course will cover traditional approved parts list theory, and will explain why a suggested parts list may be preferred to an approved parts list by showing various examples of each as they relate to groups within companies where they are needed. Sources and methods for assisting affected departments (design engineering, component engineering, purchasing, planning, the production floor) will be given.
Intended Audience: Component, design, manufacturing, production, quality & reliability engineers and their managers as well as business & purchasing personnel and project managers.
About The Instructors: Bill Perry, a senior component engineer for the latter part of a twenty-five year engineering career, has managed or maintained approved parts lists at Plessey Peripherals, Able Computer, James Company, Hi-Tech Transport Electronics, AST Research and FastPoint Technologies. He oversaw new part selection, new part qualification, production failure analysis, vendor corrective action and alternate sourcing on passive, active and electro-mechanical components. Currently he consults to the electronics manufacturing industry and offers Internet solutions through PerTel Communications. Rudy Mishmash, currently director of components at Qualcomm, Spin Co. division, was responsible for components at AST Research, ICL- Fujutsu, Computer Consoles, and Navigation Communication Systems over the last twenty-three years. Early years were spent in physics related R&D at Ford Research Labs, Collins Radio, Westinghouse, Burton Manufacturing, and Litton Industries.
